What is
Contramal (50mg)
?
Contramal is an analgesic medicine. It used to relieve moderate to moderately severe pain. It also may be used to treat pain caused by surgery and chronic conditions such as cancer or joint pain. Its mode of action resembles that of narcotics, but it has significantly less potential for abuse and addiction than the narcotics. Contramal is as effective as narcotics in relieving pain but does not depress respiration, a side effect of most narcotics.
Storage
Store Contramal at room temperature and in sealed container. Keep Contramal out of sunlight and away from moisture.

Dosages vary depending on the degree of pain experienced by the patient.

Side Effects
The most common side effects are nausea, vomiting, drowsiness and sweating.
Precautions
Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: kidney disease, liver disease, seizure disorder, lung disease, history of drug or alcohol dependency, any allergies you may have. Limit alcohol as it may add to the dizziness or drowsiness effects caused by the prescription. Because this drug may make you dizzy/drowsy, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness such as driving. This prescription should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Tramadol is excreted into breast milk. Because the effects on a nursing infant are not known, consult your doctor before breast- feeding.
